From “at risk” to “advance placement,” the
Urban League of San Diego is using PX2® as a tool to empower a broad spectrum of local teens. Over 110 students have already completed the program developed by Fred Moore, Harold Neal and Willie Williams. The process includes a three to four week “break through” series that helps students learn the value of respect for themselves and others. Next up is the PX2® training followed by a one year experience of anchoring the UBNN news network for the youth of San Diego.
In addition, they have also began a pilot program with eleven Advance Placement students from
Hoover High School and will be tracking their progress as they work to boost test scores leading up to the AP exams in May 2011. They have received great support from the District Superintendent and look forward to offering the training to other schools in the near future.
